Andrew Weller is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Oxford and a fellow of Magdalen College. He moved to Oxford in 2007, after starting his independent career at Bath in 1999 as a Royal Society University Research Fellow. Research in the Weller group is based upon synthetic organometallic chemistry, and in particular the generation and stabilisation of transition metal complexes with a low coordination number or which are “operationally unsaturated”. Through this he has made significant contributions to topics related to catalysis; C-H, B-H and C-C sigma complexes. Weller was the recipient of the inaugural Dalton Transactions European Lectureship award (2008) and the Royal Society of Chemistry Frankland Award (2016). He is a currently holder of a prestigious £2 M EPSRC Established Career Fellowship.
