Marc Fontecave studied at the « Ecole Normale Supérieure » (Cachan). He obtained his PhD in 1984, under Daniel Mansuy supervision, at « University P and M Curie » in Paris. He spent 2 years as a post-doc fellow at « Karolinska Institute » in Sweden, after which he became Professor of Chemistry at « University J. Fourier » (Grenoble) in 1989. He moved to Paris as a Professor of the « Collège de France » in 2009. He is a member of the French Academy of Sciences since 2005. M. Fontecave is internationally recognized for his research in bioinorganic chemistry and bioinspired catalysis.
