Stuart Macgregor

SMacgregorStuart Macgregor is a computational chemist with particular interests in organometallic mechanisms and bond activation, especially challenging C-H and C-F activation processes and their integration into catalytic cycles. After a PhD in metallaborane chemistry (University of Edinburgh, 1992) he held a NATO Western European Fellowship working with Odile Eisenstein at the Université de Paris-Sud where he first encountered density functional theory. After two years at the Australian National University he returned to Edinburgh in 1997 to take up a Lectureship at Heriot-Watt University. He was promoted to full Professor in 2009.
